Lux Aeterna means sound. Space. Light. An extraordinary concert experience awaits the audience in the monastery church: Lux Aeterna combines solo violin, vocal ensemble, electronics, and video art into an immersive Gesamtkunstwerk (total work of art). Violinist Miranda Cuckson, Auditiv Vokal under Olaf Katzer, and visual artist Korvin Reich create—based on a concept by C. René Hirschfeld and Korvin Reich—an impressive fusion of sound and image.
The works resonate from different directions, the space itself becomes an instrument, and the projections transform the church into a constantly shifting landscape of light and sound.
The finale, Hirschfeld’s Lux Aeterna for violin, three choral groups, and electronics, is composed specifically for the architecture and acoustics of the space.
