Bach’s Partita II in C Minor and Beethoven’s Sonata A Major, Op. 101 form the cornerstones of Beth Levin‘s piano recital. In between, 2 Lieder aus Akureyri by the Icelandic composer Snorri Sigfús Birgisson and Emil Bohnke‘s 6 Sketches, Op. 12 – nusic at the transition from post-romanticism and expressionism.

Beth Levin, a Brooklyn-based pianist who performed early on with the Philadelphia Orchestra, stands for a great European piano tradition, which she recorded with Rudolf Serkin, Leonard Shure and other formative teachers.
